Wednesday, October 11th: National Coming Out Day Celebration
WLGBT Center, 10am – 2pm
Come to the WLGBT Center to celebrate National Coming Out Day! We’ll have snacks, photo-ops, and an opportunity to share your story and how you show your pride! This event is welcome to students and staff alike, and we highly encourage folks to stop by the Center at any time! Please RSVP on SMU 360 with this link. See you there!
Saturday, October 14th: LGBTQ+ Symposium Keynote Address
HTSC Ballroom, 6:00 – 8:30pm, check-in at 5:45pm
Join us for our Annual LGBTQ+ Symposium Keynote address! We are hosting 2 fantastic speakers to talk about the legislative landscape of Texas and how that impacts LGBTQIA+ folks around our state, and the country. Our featured speakers will be Shelly Skeen from Lambda Legal and Ash Thye, an alum of SMU and activist. We will be providing a dinner for guests, and we are also accepting donations online through SMU Giving to help keep this program sustainable. We will also be showcasing various community organizations at the event to encourage folks to get involved outside of campus. This event is open to students, staff, faculty, and outside community members, so please feel free to send to anyone you think may be interested! The link to RSVP is here on SMU 360.
