Member Meetings
The Hilltop Pride convenes monthly meetings for its members to gather and advance our mission. Held often during lunch, we conduct business and provide updates on advocacy initiatives. Monthly meetings often occur near or around the SMU Dallas main campus.
Member Socials
The Hilltop Pride hosts monthly socials encouraging members to meet and build community through fun experiences. These events range from after-work happy hours at local restaurants to family-friendly block parties. Social events occur all over the DFW metroplex.
Intersectional Community Connections Program
The Hilltop Pride strives to support identities and communities that intersect with our LGBTQ+ group. The Intersectional Community Connections Programs connect individuals with shared, intersectional identities to facilitate conversation, resources, and experience sharing. Examples include queer persons of color, queer parents, transitioning to Texas and DFW, trans and nonbinary support, queer spirituality, and more.
Prospective employees and community members can proactively connect with a current community member to share insights, provide personal referrals, etc.
For current employees and community members, find opportunities to gather, socialize, and communicate about topics important to your intersection identity.

WLGBT Mentorship Program
The Hilltop Pride encourages our members to serve as mentors each academic year for the Women, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (WLGBT) Center at SMU. The SMU-managed LGBT Mentorship Program seeks to pair faculty and staff with LGBTQ+ students because “the most powerful thing we can offer you as an LGBTQ+ or Ally student is a ‘possibility’ model. Our mentorship program does just that; it connects students with LGBTQ+ and Ally faculty, staff, alumni, and community so that you see amazing LGBTQ+ people creating beautiful and successful lives and futures.”
Advocacy
The Hilltop Pride advocates for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer fairness in our communities (e.g., workplace, Dallas). Visit our advocacy page to learn more about our current initiatives.
